Welcome to the newest page of the Colorado Urban Wildlife Photo Club website. On this page you will find a listing of upcoming club field trips, photographic events around the state of Colorado as well as interesting gallery exhibits and photo contests. Please check back regularly to see what has been added. If you know of any information that can be added to this page, please send an email to andy@firstlighttours.com.

UPCOMING FIELD TRIPS

March 14-16 - Monte Vista Cranes. Please respond if you plan on joining the group and we can start an e-mail discussion on carpooling, meeting up, and any general arrangements that needs to be made.

April 19 - Waterfowl at Belmar Park

May 17 - Walden Ponds in Boulder for yellow-headed blacdkbirds and other resident birds

June 7-8 - Camping trip to North Park for moose with trips to Arapaho National Wildlife Refuge

July 12 - Mount Evans for mountain goats - early birds can do sunrise at the bristlecone pine forest

August 2-3 - Crested Butte camping trip for wildflowers

September 27 - Kenosha Pass for fall color

October 3-5 - Great Sand Dune National Park; dunes and fall color

November -

December 13 -Estes Park for bighorn sheep

 

SUBMIT YOUR PHOTO FOR USE ON PBS

SHARE YOUR FAVORITE COLORADO SHOTS ON-AIR - Submit a high-resolution photo with Rocky Mountain PBS and it may be selected for use as a station ID.

Rocky Mountain PBS is in search of great digital pictures from around Colorado (should not include people or pets). Between programs, we rotate photographs with our station call letters. These "ID" spots run for about three months. There's also a chance that your photo will be used on rmpbs.org in a viewer submission area.

Submitters will be notified of acceptance via email. The submission form should include the name of the person sending in the photo, the place featured in the photo with an appropriate description. For submission go to www.rmpbs.org/photo

USA TODAY OPEN AIR MAGAZINE

USA Today newspaper is starting a magazine called " Open Air". They are looking for submissions of recreational, leisure and nature subjects.

Submit low res jpeg files...if selected they require a high res 3 mega pixal jpeg. Entries should be sent to openairphotos@usatoday.com
