Speaker: Ellen Nelson has been an Evergreen-based professional photographer since the last century and has worked as a university photographer, photojournalist, portrait photographer and commercial photographer, while shooting for Time, Ms., and many newspapers and Colorado magazines. Her award-winning photos have been used in advertisements worldwide and she exhibits in three Colorado galleries, specializing in western images of local wildlife, mountain scenes and ranch life. Ellen’s photo of mountain goat kids, “New Kids on the Rock,” was the cover image on the 2019 September/October issue of Colorado Life and her Florida Scrub-Jay photo was selected as a 2017 Audubon Photography Awards: Top 100. She has earned the Certified Professional Photographer (CPP), a prestigious designation achieved by only 2500 photographers worldwide, and won a gold medal with her four image entries in the Professional Photographers of America’s 2020 International Photographic Competition.
