Scotland’s Highlands and Islands, Landscapes and Wildlife
Speaker: Tom Loucks is a retired corporate executive and has been a member of CUWPC since 2014, when Bob Stocker suggested he consider joining. Tom has been a longstanding amateur photographer, dating back to his childhood, and his early years as a photographer were spent photographing rural landscapes in Vermont and alpine landscapes in Europe and North America - with 35mm color slide and B&W film (and he maintained his own B&W darkroom). Currently he serves as President of Denver’s Mile High Wildlife Photo Club (2021-2022).
His principal photographic interests are landscape, wildlife, and travel photography, though his favorite subjects are alpine landscapes. Recently retired, Tom is looking forward to spending more time on photography and other outdoor activities.
A selection of Tom's photos is posted on his Member Images Web Page.
Program: Tom and his wife recently (immediately pre-COVID) spent an entire month traveling exclusively in the Scottish Highlands, and, having been to Scotland previously, this trip excluded historical monuments, battlefields, and museums, and predominantly focused on landscapes and wildlife. His presentation will share images they took and well as sharing some humorous experiences and the necessities of dealing with the logistics of traveling and photographing in Scotland’s rugged loch landscape.
