Bill Bakke

My vocation: a real estate appraiser for 35 years. My avocation: I am considered an advanced amateur photographer with many years of experience in nature, wildlife, product, wedding and photo journalism with having been published numerous times.

Over the years I have taught photography with the Auroa Parks & Recreation Department as well as at Aurora Public Schools evening programs. My work has been exhibited in various venues in addition to one-man shows. I also am involved in bio-diversity and nature conservation causes.

I'm a member of the Urban Wildlife Photo Club, North American Nature Photographer's Association (NANPA) and am a life member of the Denver Photographric Society. I attended NANPA's 2000 Summit in Austin, Texas; the 2003 Summit in Albuquerque, New MExico, participating in the Members Slide Show; the 2004 Summit in Portland, Oregon; and the 2005 Summit in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Presently Fuji Provia is my film of choice having three SLRs and all kinds of lenses plus assorted equipment. In the past, medium format, 4X5 and 8X10 view cameras occupied my thinking. Also, black and white is a love but I no longer have a darkroom.

I have recently entered the digital realm, having two digital cameras and an HP printer. So far so good.

Living very near Cherry Creek State Park, I am always finding myself going to the park for walks and photo shooting.

Personal: Bill was born in 1930, raised in Denver and widowed in August 1999. He has three grown children and three grandchildren.
